JIVATI

Jivati is at the distance of 125 kms from Chandrapur towards south. It is a block place. It shares boundary with Andhra Pradesh. Baseline survey has been undertaken in six villages namely Chikhali, Devalguda, Loldoh, Pataguda, Pataguda (Banjara) and Pudiyal Mohada. Total 272 household were surveyed.

• Large number of families; 69% do not have animals
• Average number of cattle holding is 1.

Agriculture:

• Out of 127 acres of total cultivable land 43 acres that is 4% is under irrigation and rest of 96% is
   rain fed.
• Irrigation: 36% of the farmers have irrigation source available with them.
• Near about all the farmers (268 out f 270), have adopted using chemical fertilizers, and most of
  them (85%) use 50 KGs per acre and another 10 % of them use 100 KGs per ace
• 14% of the farmers have followed the practice of getting their soil tested.
• Almost all the farmers are carrying on their routine tillage operations including ploughing with the
  use of bullock power. None of them make use of tractor for ploughing their lands.
