• Input cost for agriculture 58% families hold animals.
• Average animal holding per family is 3.
• Only 10% families posses small animals
• No cross bred animals
Agriculture:
• Cropping pattern: Only 14% of crop acreage in the cluster is brought under
irrigation, and, 86% of it
is rain fed. Major area is under cotton cultivation (68%). Other important
crops are Jowar (9%),
Soya (9%) and Tur (10%).
• Near about all the farmers (96%), have adopted using chemical fertilizers, and
most of them (90%)
use 50 kgs each.
• However only 1% of the farmers have followed the practice of getting their
soil tested. May be,
lack of awareness of its need or difficulties in accessing the facility.
• Though other trends prevailing in the area indicate about higher level of
innovativeness, majority of
the farmers are still carrying on their ploughing and other routine tillage
operations with the use of
bullock power. However sizable no. of them have adopted using tractor for
ploughing operations.
